Q2 wins and Q3 goals

Well. Turns out breaking my year into quarters was a good move, because 2020 got through about March and decided to go full crazy mode. It seems a little silly to think about goal-setting with all that’s going on in the world, but at the same time, it makes more sense than ever to check in and readjust.

I’m happy to celebrate a few wins that happened during this bizarre, memorable time, as well as put down some goals in the face of a lot of uncertainty. Will you join me? I’d love to hear your wins–and goals too if you have some!

{second quarter wins}

  • I did a little technology decluttering and freed up space in my (almost full) Google Drive.
  • I was put on furlough for a month, but I treated it like a gift of rest and enjoyed the extra time with my family. (I realize the privilege I have to be able to do that, and I am thankful.)
  • With Aaron’s help, I did school-at-home with both kids through the end of May. Jona is now done with first grade and Violet is back to preschool (but back being able to write her name and say several letter sounds!)
  • I cleaned out my closet.
  • I got into a good rhythm of writing posts and planning ahead for the blog.
  • Found a new (to me) ice cream spot!
  • Found a new (to me) book shop!
  • Got my hair cut and colored for the first time since January.
  • Went back to work after a month off. Again, I am very thankful to have my job.

{third quarter goals}

  • Celebrate our 14th anniversary and Aaron’s birthday (just days apart) with a date night.
  • Plan some sort of birthday celebration for Jona (it’s not until August, but I have no clue what to expect).
  • If Jona goes back to school in August (and right now they’re saying he will), make it as smooth a transition as possible after so much time at home.
  • Take an eCourse or read a book on photography to improve my skills.
  • Finish reading and working through Me and White Supremacy.
  • Intentionally add more diversity to the kids books we check out.
  • Get involved with a racial justice organization within my church.
  • Buy or support BIPOC-owned stores and brands at least twice a month.
  • Get into a better rhythm of planning what I post on Instagram and Instagram Stories.

I would love to hear some of your recent wins as well as some goals you have for the next few months!
