See it. Like it. Do it. Smores Ice Cream

Today is an important day for two reasons: one, my husband turns 30 today (Happy birthday Aaron!) and two, I just discovered the joy that is S’mores Ice Cream.

I’m starting a new series today that will hopefully encourage me to try out all those awesome ideas I find on other blogs and on Pinterest. I’m often guilty of being a “pinner and forgetter”, but one of my New Year’s resolutions was to actually try the ideas I discover. Now that it’s July, I figure I’d better get started on that one. (Better late than never, right?)

Roasty toasty marshmallows, the main ingredient for Smores Ice Cream. Also a good way to find out if your oven cooks evenly. (Mine doesn’t.)

When I saw Brown Eyed Baker’s post on Smores Ice Cream, I knew I had to try it as soon as possible. I can’t seem to get enough smores-anything right now, and combining them with my favorite thing in the entire world, ice cream, sounded like a genius idea. Guess what? It is.

I modified her recipe a smidge, by switching up the fudge swirl for good old fashioned chopped up Hershey bar (I used milk chocolate, but you can do dark if you want to get fancy). Otherwise, I kept everything the same and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. Thanks Brown Eyed Baker for the inspiration!

Do like to mix up your smores? Or are you a purist who prefers a stick and an open flame?
