February TBR: Romance novels to read

Until recently, I didn’t think romance was a genre that was for me. Typically I gravitate towards darker, more serious literary fiction, and romance obviously isn’t that. While I still enjoy those types of books, I’m learning that what I love more than anything is having variety in my reading life.

I read a couple of romances over the past few years that I’ve really enjoyed, so I felt like it was time to explore the genre even more. So I’m dedicating February to romance novels.

Here is my TBR list of 5 romance novels to read this month.

A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole. I’ve heard of Alyssa Cole and hope to read the suspense novel she recently published (When No One is Watching) soon too, but she’s more well known for her romance novels. When I saw this one on a recent Kindle deal I grabbed it and can’t wait to give it a try.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. I’ve heard great things about this romance that features a brilliant Asian-American woman with Asperger’s who hires an escort to hone her dating skills.

Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. Alex is the son of the American President; Henry is a British prince. They don’t get along, but they decide to stage a truce for diplomacy’s sake. As you can imagine, their “truce” blossoms into something more.

The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams. I heard about this one on the What Should I Read Next? podcast. I love that it’s about a group of baseball players who have a romance book club, and that it’s about a married couple, instead of two strangers meeting for the first time. That seems refreshing to me.

Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren. I needed a fifth book for my list, so I asked my friend Alexandra, whose romance recommendations I trust, for a suggestion. I’m so glad she gave me this one, because I’ve been wanting to read more from Christina Lauren. Thanks Alexandra!

That’s what I’m reading next month, what about you? If you’re looking for some romance novels to read, you’ll have to let me know if you read any from this list!
