Is anyone else wearing more loungewear this year than ever before? I’ve always loved a sweatshirt for warmth and comfort, but they have become a wardrobe staple for me. No longer is it the piece I throw over pajamas when I want to get out of my “real” clothes, but instead it’s now front and center as part of my actual all day outfit. Anyone else?
If you’re like me though, sometimes you still may want to look put-together, even if comfort is significantly higher on your priority list. I think it’s possible to have both, and here are a few ways to take a sweatshirt and make it a real outfit.
{with jeans and boots}
Many sweatshirts can be styled the same way you would a sweater, only the cozy factor is turned up a little. I love this leopard sweatshirt with jeans and ankle boots, and it can even be tied at the waist for another cute look.
{with jeggings and wedge sneakers}
This camo sweatshirt is slightly longer in length, which makes it perfect for wearing with jeggings or leggings. Adding a cute pair of wedge sneakers makes this feel like more of an actual outfit rather than loungewear.
{layered with leggings}
This is definitely the comfiest of the three looks, but I think it avoids “sloppy” territory and instead has more of an athleisure feel. (Heavy on the “leisure” for me, unless you consider reading an athletic sport.) This slightly longer-length sweatshirt is layered over a thin striped tee and paired with my go-to pair of black leggings. Since no one can see my feet during a zoom call I’m wearing my most comfortable tennis shoes.
Have you been wearing more sweatshirts than ever this year too?
