All About Entertainment: TBB Asks

I’m a couple days late to the party, but I wanted to join The Blended Blog ladies’ TBB Asks for this month’s questions, which are all about entertainment. I’d love to hear your thoughts as well–answer in the comments or join the linkup here!

1. Comedy or drama? Drama. I’ll watch a comedy, but if I’m the one picking the movie I prefer a drama. I consider myself a pretty upbeat person, but for some reason my entertainment taste is more serious.

2. Fiction or non-fiction? It used to be 100% fiction, but in the past year I’ve challenged myself to pick up more non-fiction and for the most part I enjoy it. However, if I can only choose one, give me a novel any day.

3. Movies in the theater or at home? We rarely go to movies in the theater anymore, although my track record for watching movies at home isn’t that great either. (Usually at some point I have to pause it to finish later because I can’t stay awake. Aaron loves this I’m sure.) If budget were no option, I’d love to watch more movies in the theater.

4. Musical or play? Musical for sure, although I love any kind of on-stage entertainment.

5. Which meal of the day is your favorite to eat out? Breakfast or brunch. I love breakfast food SO MUCH but we rarely eat big breakfasts at home. It’s such a treat to go out for breakfast, and if it involves a mimosa or spiked coffee, then you’re really speaking my love language.

6. Favorite book ever read? Too hard, too hard!! I just can’t pick, honestly. I have wonderful memories of reading the Little House on the Prairie books as a child, and I also adored Anne of Green Gables which I re-read pretty recently. In high school I read The Poisonwood Bible and it had a big impact on me at the time, and it’s one I’ve reread a few times since then. It’s hard to know just yet what my favorite book for this year will be, but last year’s favorite was This Is How it Always Is, and it still stands out to me as one of the best books I’ve read recently.

7. Game night: yes or no? Yes! I love playing board games and I hope that when my kids are a little older we can start a family game night tradition.

8. Favorite outside game to play? I have no idea. I’m terrible at lawn games like bags and horseshoes, and I can’t even throw a frisbee (at least not where I aim it). I prefer the “game” of “I’ll sit here and read this book while you kids play.” Ha!

9. Favorite TV series ever? Ever? Probably Friends. Although Gilmore Girls is up there.

10. Sitcoms growing up or sitcoms of today? I don’t watch any sitcoms today, so I’ll have to pick the former. Aaron has been watching old episodes of Roseanne and I had forgotten about what a great show that was. And The Fresh Prince? Such a classic.

11. Miniature golf or bowling? Mini golf all the way! Unless I can use those bumpers that they put on kids’ lanes, I’m an awful bowler.

12. Favorite movie theater candy? M&Ms. Peanut butter ones if they have them.

13. How do you like your popcorn? Pretty simple, with just butter and salt.

14. 3D movies with the glasses: yes or no? No, that’s not really my thing.

15. Favorite genre of books to read? Contemporary literary fiction.

What about you–how do you feel about all things entertainment?
