Mom and Toddler Style: Neon Weekend and Some News

I don’t have a lot of neon in my closet, but this time of year always makes me want more. I like adding little touches of neon here and there to brighten up a look, like this one I wore over the weekend. Similarly, I’ve been finding things for Jona that have a little bit of neon too, so not surprisingly we had to coordinate for a photo.

On me: plaid shirt: Old Navy (similar for a steal) | print tee: Target (fun flamingo print) | jeans: Gap (similar) | sandals: Old Navy (similar)

On Jona: plaid shirt: Carter’s (similar) | tee (underneath): Carter’s | jeans: Gap (similar) | sandals: Old Navy (similar – less than $3!)

There’s a little something Jona would like to share with you.

That’s right, coming in October, he’s going to be a big brother! We’re a little excited, if you can’t tell.

Right now I’m 13 weeks along, so it’s still fairly early. When I was pregnant with Jona I was very sick until about 15 weeks or so. This pregnancy has been vastly different so far–I felt sick for about a week and have felt great since. Of course I’ve been exhausted and I’ve caught two colds and a flu bug since I found out… but even so compared to last time it’s been fantastic.

Another change I’ve noticed so far is how hungry I am. Until I was 10 weeks or so, I had to eat something every few hours or I’d start to feel shaky or queasy. Now that queasy feeling has mostly subsided, but I still feel constantly hungry. I’m trying to prep ahead lots of healthy snacks so that I don’t go too crazy on the chocolate. Although I’ve eaten my fair share of dessert lately.

Anyway, I plan to keep you updated as the baby grows, but I’ll try not to overdo it on the pregnancy posts. For various reasons I didn’t do a great job documenting my pregnancy with Jona, at least here on the blog, and I’d like to do better this time around.

Thanks for always being such caring, supportive readers and friends. You’re the best!!
