How to Add Personality to a Simple Look featuring Uncommon Goods

You all know by now that my wardrobe consists of a lot of classic pieces. One of my goals over the last few years has been to buy fewer, higher quality pieces that will last, so that ideally, I just need to give my closet a few fun updates each season. One of my favorite ways to make the classic pieces in my wardrobe feel like “me” is by adding jewelry.

The jewelry I’m wearing today comes from Uncommon Goods. They contacted me about featuring some of their jewelry here, and I’m so happy that they did. They are known for their jewelry (go here or here to see a few things they have to offer), home décor, and gifts, but more than that they’re known for being a company that gives back. They support independent artists and designers, and a lot of what they sell are handmade goods. As a company, they are committed to having a positive impact on the world, and they only sell products created in harmony with the environment and without harming people or animals. Now if that doesn’t sound like a company you want to get behind, I don’t know what does!

How do you add personality to your basics?

{Look 1: Dressed Up}

Wearing a statement necklace or a fun pair of earrings is a way to add personality to an otherwise simple look. This look, for example, a striped shirt, skirt, and flats isn’t very exciting on its own. However, with a statement necklace and whimsical earrings, it feels like the perfect combination of fun, colorful, and classic.

For a casual day of running errands, I don’t like an outfit that’s too fussy. However, I still like my weekend outfits to have a little personality, so I added this necklace for a little color and fun.
