Dark floral prints have become as ubiquitous for fall as their bright counterparts are in spring, but they still feel very fresh to me. I have a long-sleeved version from Old Navy that’s a few years old and nearly worn out, so my closet was due for a fall floral upgrade. I found this blouse during a recent Loft sale, and while the short sleeves make it difficult to wear on its own right now, it’s just right for layering under sweaters and jackets.
I did a little shopping for Violet recently, and some dark floral was in order for her as well. Her version–a long sleeve tee shirt from Old Navy–coordinates quite perfectly with my own I think. Looking at these photos, I’m pretty sure her shirt was on backwards, but if a toddler can’t pull off a backwards top then who can?
It can be a challenge to get pictures taken with my mile-a-minute Violet these days, but I love it when she cooperates. It will be nice to look back and have these moments frozen in time of her at this adorable age. I asked her what’s on her shirt and she said, “flowers on there!” and then she noticed my shirt and she said “mommy’s shirt has flowers too!” I love her excitement.
Do you enjoy floral prints year round?
