Work Style: 2 Looks for a Casual Office

What do you wear to work? I work in an office three days a week (the other two days I work from home). Despite my workplace looking like a pretty traditional corporate office, our dress code is very relaxed. Depending on my schedule, I wear anything from jeans and slip-on sneakers to a dress and boots.

I like having the flexibility to wear what I want, although I do sometimes wish I had more occasions to dress up a little more. However, if given the choice between my current dress code and a place where I had to wear a pencil skirt every day, I’d choose the former. Here are a couple of looks that I would wear (or likely have worn) to work.

{look 1: dressy tee + cardigan + denim skirt + ankle boots}

I wore this to church this weekend but it’s also something I would feel comfortable wearing to work. I like the mix of the embellished tee with the casual cardigan and ankle boots. After looking at these photos, I would swap my gray tights for a navy pair, because I feel like I have a lot of colors, albeit neutral ones, going on here. I do love the addition of the burgundy earrings; olive and burgundy is a color combination I really like.

Olive cardigan: Loft via ThredUp (similar) | navy embellished tee: J.Crew via ThredUp (similar) | denim skirt: J. Crew via ThredUp (similar) | burgundy earrings: Nickel and Suede | brown ankle boots: Arizona, J.C. Penney (similar)

{look 2: dressy tee + moto jacket + jeans + leopard flats}

I love my denim, and I’m glad that I work at a place where I can wear jeans pretty much any day of the week. I do dress up my jeans for work more than I would on the weekend, and I also don’t feel comfortable wearing my distressed jeans to the office. With a dressy tee, faux-suede moto, and flats, I would totally wear this casual look to work.

Faux-suede moto jacket: H&M (similar) | navy embellished tee: J.Crew via ThredUp (similar) | jeans: Gap via ThredUp (similar) | olive earrings: Nickel and Suede | leopard flats: Merona via ThredUp (similar)

This little stud muffin wanted to be in a picture too. Getting him to smile was another story though!
