Currently: March

It may not officially be spring for another few weeks, and it’s a crapshoot as to when the spring weather will be here to stay, but I can’t help but have the upcoming season on my mind. Spring is my favorite season, so anytime winter wants to check out, I’m ready to say my goodbyes. As always, I’m joining Anne, and her co-host this month Sarah (another blogger I adore!), for the currently link-up to share what I’m up to this new month.

{planning} a mini photo album for 2018. I would like to say that this has moved into the “doing” stage but unfortunately it isn’t so. I finally found some cute 4 x 4 mini albums online so I just need to buy one and get printing!

{seeing} Jona’s school for next year. Last week we had “Kindergarten Round Up” for the school district we live in, so we got to go visit the elementary school that Jona will attend next year. I can’t believe I’ll have a kindergartner on my hands soon! Because he has an August birthday we could have waited a year to send him, making him at the older end rather than the younger end of the spectrum. However, we think he’s ready, and after visiting his school for the first time, he is pumped!

{making} a breakfast treat. This weekend I made Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Scones, and it has been the best treat the last couple of days. I’ve made it my mission this year to improve my breakfast game so I’m not eating a bowl of cereal or a package of breakfast crackers every day. I try make a mixture of sweet and savory breakfasts, and this is one of my favorites from the sweet category.

{pretending} to be calm in the midst of uncertainty. I am not a spontaneous person. I like to know what is happening so I can plan accordingly. Yet life doesn’t always accommodate my nature, and I’m trying to go with the flow the best that I can. I mentioned that Jona will be starting school next year, and I’ve been thinking about shifting my work schedule so that I don’t have to find before/after school care for him. However, if I do that it will likely mean changes for Violet’s daycare schedule as well. I also don’t know if I’ll still be at my current job by then (I’m applying to ALL the library jobs), and even if I am I may not be able to adjust my current schedule. And that’s just me. Aaron is also hoping for a change; he’s in graduate school for school counseling and would like to get into a counseling position as soon as he can. I think all the change coming our way is good change, but it could make me crazy if I let it! (Also, that picture of Violet has nothing to do with this, I just love her little blogger-y stance.)

{wearing} light layers whenever I can. Wouldn’t you know the day I write this post I had to get my coat out. We’ve had a few days recently with gorgeous weather, and I was able to get away with wearing my faux suede moto jacket or a blazer instead of my heavy coat. On occasion I’ve even been able to bare my ankles. More weather like that please!

What have you been up to lately?
