After having several busy weekends in a row, it was nice to finally have one with not a lot planned. It was freezing cold, so apart from the necessary running around, I stayed indoors. And what does one do when stuck inside on a cold winter Saturday? Bake cookies of course! I tried these Soft Chocolate Chip M&M Cookies with Valentine M&Ms with my favorite baking sidekick. (They were delicious by the way.)
Then, with my favorite style sidekick, we did a little Valentine’s Day dress up. Violet got this adorable heart dress for her birthday, and I’m glad that it still fits since it’s perfect for this month. My dress isn’t nearly as cute, but you can’t go wrong with classic black and white stripes. I added a cozy red scarf for warmth and a subtle hint of Valentine’s Day.
In the past I’ve gone bolder with my Valentine’s Day style, mixing red and pink to really have fun with the holiday’s color palette (see these two looks and this still favorite look). However, this year I’m much more drawn to classic color combinations.
