Currently: November

November, I am SO ready for you. October thoroughly kicked my butt. So I am happily turning that calendar page and welcoming the fresh start of a new month.

As always, I’m joining Anne and this month’s co-host Julie for the monthly currently linkup to share a few things I’ve been up to lately.

{currently: november}

{realizing} I need a break. The past month has been exhausting, and there have been numerous situations and events that have required plenty of my time and attention. Violet had a birthday, we had some major home repairs, I’m coordinating a big meeting for work, Halloween… the list goes on. In order for me to retain some morsel of sanity, I need to take a day off. I plan to do just that next Monday, and with the exception of a doctor’s appointment I hope to have a restful, slow-paced day.

{stirring} soup in the crock pot. I love a warm, comforting bowl of soup this time of year. I love it even more when I can put it in the crock pot in the morning and then forget about it until dinner time. A couple we’ve tried and liked lately: Crockpot Bacon Cheeseburger Soup and Crock Pot Chicken Enchilada Soup

{appreciating} cozy little pleasures. Amidst the crazy that was October, I found myself being thankful for the little things that made life a little more enjoyable. Things like warm coffee in the morning (and the rare occasion when I can enjoy it before the kids woke up), cozy socks, a yummy-smelling candle, and a glass of red wine were things that made, and continue to make, my days a little bit better.

{investigating} what I need to do to get back on board the MLS train. I started my Master of Library Science degree before I had Jona, but took a break shortly after his birth. I realized I took on too much when I tried to continue with classes, work full time, and take care of a newborn the fall semester after he was born. However, I would like to enroll again and start looking for a library job. The time away has made me realize that my heart really does belong to libraries.

{following} the Lazy Genius holiday game plan. My most recent podcast addiction is The Lazy Genius Podcast, and I feel like I chose the perfect time to start listening. She is doing a whole series of holiday podcasts and blog posts aimed at helping you prepare for the holidays without going crazy.

{loving} my little Minions. Aren’t they cute in their Halloween costumes?

What have you been up to lately?
