Goals for June and May Goal Recap

Each month I share my goals as a way to motivate myself to get things done and stay accountable. Here’s this month’s recap and the next month’s set of goals for my home, my blog, and my family and personal life.

Do a home-related Pinterest DIY. Yes, I did end up doing the basket project that I saw on Anne’s blog. They turned out pretty cute, right?

Share at least 3 style posts. Yes! I wrote 3 outfit posts (trying a neck scarf, olive and blush, and favorite floral) and a spring favorites roundup post.

Stay on budget! I’m counting this as only partially done. Our family’s “month” goes from the 20th to the 19th, so from April 20th to May 19th we did great. However, we had a bit of a relapse last weekend and not only overspent our grocery budget, but also splurged on a Chipotle run that was not in the plans. Hopefully we’ll do better the rest of the month.

Use items and pictures we already have to finish decorating the living room. I say “finish” loosely, as I’d still like to add a large ottoman or coffee table… but that can happen later. For now I’d just like to get a few more pictures up on the wall and the bookshelves and piano decorated.

Take some time every week to work on improving my blog. I tend to put most my focus on content creation, and any time and energy I have left goes towards promoting my posts and reading and commenting on other blogs. However, there is a lot more to blogging than just creating new content, and while I may not enjoy it as much, I know that I’ll be thankful in the long run if I just take a little time each week to do something.

Read 5 books. Summertime is one of my favorite times to read, so this month I want to spend less time mindlessly scrolling Facebook and more time mindfully reading. I’m kicking the month off with Chasing Slow by Erin Loechner on my Kindle, and I have The Lost Book of the Grail heading to my nearest library right now.

What are your goals for June? Did you get a lot done last month?
