Interview with a 3-Year-Old

Three has been quite a challenging age around here, but I know there will come a day when I will really miss Jona’s little-ness and would love to see a snapshot of his life at this age. Inspired by a post on According to Kiki, I decided to interview him about his life at age 3.

How old are you? Three (pronounced “free”).

What’s your favorite color? Blue.

Who’s your best friend? Carson (a friend from preschool).

What do you want to be when you grow up? First he said a bad guy, because I think he was thinking of Halloween–he was a villain for Halloween. When I asked again he said a teacher.

What do you want to teach? Artwork.

What is your favorite show to watch? Paw Patrol.

What’s your favorite book to read? The Silly Book (which is what he calls Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein).

What do you like to do with Violet? Play with her.

What’s your favorite toy? My gears (it’s a set with plastic blocks and gears that you can connect and the gears turn).

What does mommy do at her work? I don’t know. Work.

What does daddy do? Teaches the kids.

What’s your favorite movie? Dory. (I thought this was funny. Finding Dory is the only movie Jona has seen in theaters, but it’s been quite a while since we’ve seen it. More recently he’s been loving The Good Dinosaur and Zootopia.

What’s your favorite food? Hot dogs. (This made me laugh too, since I’ve maybe seen him eat a tiny bite of hot dog once or twice.)

What’s your favorite song? Twinkle Twinkle Dinosaur. (This one doesn’t surprise me. It’s a song he learned at preschool and he sings it all the time.

It was fun to get a little glimpse into what goes on in that busy mind of his. For as much of a talker as he is, I was surprised at his short answers. I suppose that he’s used to doing the question-asking (“When can I have a snack?” “Why do I have to take a bath?” “Is it still morning time?”). So many questions…

Happy Friday! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
