Introducing Violet Lennon

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all the sweet comments I’ve already received here and on Instagram about Violet’s arrival. I promised everyone an update, so without further ado I’ll introduce our newest family member.

Violet Lennon arrived on Wednesday, October 19th at 7:56 in the morning. She was born via c-section, so I knew that unless she was early, that would be the day. She weighed 6 lb 7 oz and measured 19.5 inches long. I still can’t get over how tiny she is!

We’ve been having fun looking at Jona’s baby pictures, because Violet looks exactly like he did. In fact, if she weren’t wearing pink I probably wouldn’t be able to tell their pictures apart! She’s got a full head of dark hair and (so far) blue eyes that we rarely get to see because she sleeps so much.

Unlike her brother, who cried for just about the first 3 months of his life, she has been a very calm, sleepy baby so far. I’ve never been around a baby who sleeps so much, and I have to say it’s really nice (except when I’m trying to keep her awake to nurse)! I know this calm, sleepy time is likely short-lived, but I’m enjoying it now.

Jona loves being a big brother, and has been a big helper so far. There have been some tantrums and frustrations for sure, but overall he’s been handling this change really well. For me, the biggest challenge has been that evenings are my worst time of day, pain-wise, and since Jona is at daycare during the day, I feel like I’m not able to give him the attention he needs when he gets home. I know that will get better with time though, so now I’m extremely thankful that Aaron is here to do so much. I’m also really grateful to have family nearby who have done SO MUCH to help us out.

No doubt this little girl will be making more appearances here, and if you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat (@shealennonblog) I share lots of baby pictures there as well.

Thanks again for all your kind words and support, I’m so lucky to have such wonderful readers and friends!
