Pregnancy Update: 35 Weeks

I’m in the home stretch! 4 weeks to go and I’m experiencing so many emotions. Of course I’m so excited for our little girl to get here, but I’m also nervous about being a mom of two, and anxious about getting everything done before she arrives. Here’s my latest (and probably last) pregnancy update, for 35 weeks.

{I’m actually only 34 weeks in this photo, but I didn’t get a picture taken this week.}

Feeling? Really pregnant. I still feel very fortunate that overall things are still going very smoothly. However, as my belly grows, so does my level of discomfort. My feet and ankles are pretty swollen by the end of the day, and I have to pee all the time. Also, I’ve recently started feeling a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions, something I didn’t experience much with Jona. I have to stop and rest a lot more frequently than I’m used to, and that can be a challenge with work and being a mom to a busy 3 year old.

Size of baby? She’s a honeydew melon this week, which feels pretty accurate to me.

Movement? Oh yes, she’s still moving around quite a bit, although I can tell she has less room to move.  She’s also been getting the hiccups fairly frequently too.

Weight gain? Luckily my weight gain has slowed down, and I’m only up 5 pounds from last month. Total gain so far is 39 pounds, which is plenty, but I’m not going to stress about that.

Cravings? Again with the alcohol, but red wine is starting to sound amazing. I think it’s just knowing that I’m so close to the end… Also, I’ve been eating lots of Honeycrisp apples lately too.

Aversions? Ha, still no. I want all the food, all the time.

Wearing? Ugh, the same thing over and over again. I found a few cute fall cardigans and blazers that I can’t wait to wear, but it’s been so dang hot! So to say that I’m getting sick of my maternity wardrobe is an understatement. Also, I’m NOT wearing a lot of my shoes. My poor puffy feet won’t fit into any ankle boots (which makes sense, as my ankles don’t exist right now), and even many of my flats won’t be seeing the light of day for a while.

I think this has been the whiniest of my pregnancy updates, but with only 4 weeks to go the end is at least in sight. I’m excited to think that next month’s update will likely be the one where I’m not pregnant anymore!
