August Clothing Budget

August can be a tough month for shopping, for me at least. Fall stuff is everywhere, but since it’s still so hot out I have a hard time getting too excited about cool-weather gear. However, I did find some fun things for me, and even more for Jona this month. Here’s what I bought.

{my clothing budget: August 2016}

What I added to my closet in August - a few good deals plus a fun dress from Pink Blush Maternity

Gap – Open Front Cardigan in Oatmeal Heather: $16 (40% off promotion) – worn here

Target – Mossimo Lina Gladiator Sandals in Gold: $14 (on clearance; as seen on Instagram here)

6pm.com – New Balance WL 555 in Icarus: $40 (actually had to exchange for a size larger, so crossing my fingers they fit!)

Total spent: $70

I also partnered with Pink Blush Maternity this month and received a dress from them in exchange for a blog post. See my post here

Pink Blush Maternity Teal Floral Draped Maternity / Nursing Dress (originally $73, now on sale for $49)

I didn’t buy a lot this month, although this post is somewhat deceiving as I did just place a good-sized ThredUp order last week. However, since I wrote this before it arrived, I will save it for next month. I’m hoping that everything in my cardigan-heavy order works out!

{clothing budget for Jona: August 2016}

A few things I added to Jona's closet this month - he didn't need a lot but it's way too much fun to shop for a toddler boy!

Gap – Convertible Plaid Linen Shirt in Icy Pink: $13 (40% off) – worn here

Burlington Coat Factory: Pacific dinosaur tee: $4 (similar)

Burlington Coat Factory: Sahara Club gray polo shirt: $4 (similar)

Burlington Coat Factory: Levi 511 Slim jeans: $13 (similar pictured)

Target – Circo Toddler Boys Chino Short in Sandstone Khaki: $5 (similar) – worn here

Target – Circo Toddler Boys Fashion Short in Electric Blue plaid: $5 (similar pictured)

Old Navy – Canvas Slip-ons for Toddler in Ancient Mariner: $10 (40% off; similar) – worn here

Amazon – MLB Kansas City Royals Basic MVP Adjustable Hat, Toddler: $20 – worn here

Target – Carter’s Just One You Toddler Boys Snug Fit 4-Piece Pajama Set, train print: $11 (30% off Cartwheel promotion)

Total spent: $85

I didn’t buy anything for Jona last month, but I certainly made up for it this month! The only thing he truly needed was pajamas, but clearly I couldn’t stop there. Once again I succumbed to a 40% off sale at Gap and Old Navy (that plaid shirt though! I die!) and also made a random trip to Burlington Coat Factory and scored some deals. The Royals hat was for his birthday; just like his dad Jona loves to wear hats, so it was only fitting he sport a Royals one for his Royals-themed birthday party.

What did you buy this month?
