I love joining in this linkup every week, and I love her motivation behind it–to encourage women to share things that make them feel confident. It’s also very fitting since “confidence” happens to be my word of the year for 2016.
Sometimes it can be difficult to feel confident during pregnancy. In fact, that’s been more of a struggle for me this time around than it was with my first. When I was pregnant with my son Jona, I think it was all so new and magical that it didn’t occur to me to feel self-conscious of my growing, changing body. This time, especially as I’ve neared the end of my second trimester, I’ve worried more about the size of my bump, the weight gain, etc. I don’t dwell on these things, but they occasionally cloud my thoughts.
When I’m choosing an outfit to wear, one thing I can count on to help boost my confidence is a dress. I’ve been living in dresses this pregnancy, and to me there is nothing more comfortable or flattering. I have been wearing this white dress from Old Navy a ton this summer, and when I saw this post on Writes Like a Girl, I knew I wanted to recreate her little white dress look. I wore it to work a couple of weeks ago (you may have seen it on Instagram) and then again to church on Sunday, and felt confident for both occasions.
