With all that’s been going on in the world lately, I often feel ridiculous pouring my heart and soul into blogging and all that goes with it. It can feel trivial and pointless, and yet I know that in the wake of tragedy that’s how so many parts of life feel. However, I was thinking about blogging and what it means to me, and how so many of you, whom I’ve never even met, I consider my friends.
I know that there’s negativity out there, but what I see more than anything else in this community is support, encouragement and understanding. And while our blogs themselves may not be a certain means of changing this world for the better, I can’t help but think that the people behind them, and the love we show each other, are doing just that. In a little tiny way, sharing our lives and the things that bring us joy, no matter how insignificant they seem, is helping love conquer hate.
Earlier this year, Still Being Molly shared a list of 366 random acts of kindness, and somehow I feel like doing these things, even the small ones, will help me feel a little less helpless in the face of all the sadness and hate we see on the news.
