Currently: July

Summer is going by ridiculously fast, don’t you think? June was a whirlwind, and I’m sad to see it go. Between heading to Nashville with friends, visiting cousins in Hutchinson, and lots of time spent with grandparents and friends, the past month has been a blast.

As always, I’m linking with Anne and Jenna for their monthly linkup to share what I’m currently…

{toasting} to 10 years of marriage! Last Friday, Aaron and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary, which I can hardly believe. We had a nice dinner out (at Providence KC) where they kindly treated us to sparkling apple cider (after noticing my belly) and a complimentary dessert. I always love date nights, but this one was extra special.

{going} on non-stop summer adventures. This summer we’ve been on the go nearly every weekend, and it’s been a lot of fun. Jona has spent a lot of time outdoors playing with his cousins (in the picture above) and friends, and we’ve also had a great time catching up with family and friends.

{smelling} my DIY lavender frankincense belly butter. Over the weekend I made this belly butter I saw on Still Being Molly. I remember my skin feeling so dry and itchy the first time around; I’m hoping this will help soothe that feeling. While it doesn’t smell bad, I adjusted her recipe a little because I didn’t have some of the oils she called for, and I should have added more drops of lavender to make up the difference. Also, hers looks white and my version turned out really yellow. Maybe I used too much Shea butter. It does make my belly feel really moisturized though.

{wearing} this striped dress. All. The. Time. I wore it in this blog post and praised it for its versatility. Let me tell you, I wasn’t lying! I’ve been living in this dress for work, weekends, and even for our anniversary date night! I think I need another one…

{wishlisting} cute hats. I’ve always put myself in the category of “not a hat person,” because for most of my adult life I’ve had short hair. However, now that my hair is more than long enough to be visible under a hat, I think I need to rethink my stance. I keep seeing adorable hats (like this cute tasseled one) on other people, and it’s about time I try one myself.

What have you been up to lately?
