Today is my mom’s birthday, so if you’re reading this mom, happy birthday!
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun for Valentine’s Day? We tried a new place for brunch after church, and we gave Jona a book (The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss) and some highly coveted fruit snacks. After Jona went to bed we treated ourselves to a home cooked surf and turf dinner–filet mignons and sea scallops. Yum!
Today I have a mom and toddler look featuring an outfit combination that I wear frequently this time of year: cords and cardigans. Jona has been known to rock some cords as well, but it wasn’t until recently that a cardigan became part of his wardrobe. I found this adorable Fair Isle grandpa-style cardigan at Old Navy during their after Christmas sale and I couldn’t resist. It’s a little big, but that almost makes it even cuter.
I love the cords + a cardigan formula, because it’s both versatile and comfortable. It’s easy to swap out the top depending on how dressy or casual you’d like to be. For a more casual look, swap out the blouse for a fun graphic tee. For a different, yet still polished, look try a button-up shirt with a necklace layered under the collar.
