A Very Kansas City Gift Guide

If you can’t tell, I’m pretty crazy about where I live, and I happen to think we have some of the best makers, designers, and creative folks around. So here’s my round up of a few of my favorite Kansas City-made gifts to give for Christmas this year, and believe me, your loved ones will like these no matter where they’re from.

{one} art print from Hammerpress Studio. For only $15, this cute feather print would make a great gift for anyone on your list. It’s an especially good idea for new homeowners or friends who just moved. Include a frame and they’ll love you to pieces.

{two} wallet from Sandlot Goods. Guys are the hardest to shop for, am I right? I’m sure there’s a guy in your life who would appreciate this well-made, hand-stitched leather wallet.

{three} leather earrings from Nickel and Suede. Jewelry is one of my favorite gifts to give, because I find that it’s easier to pick out for someone than clothes are. These beautiful lightweight leather earrings are perfect for pretty much any lovely lady on your list. (And I won’t blame you a bit if you buy a pair for yourself too… I just might.)

{four} planner from JLynn Designery. There are a lot of choices when it comes to planners, but I love these Revive Lifestyle Planners from local designer Jenna Stratman. Your lucky friend (or mom, or sister, or cousin…) can choose from a fitness edition, blog edition, meal edition, or Christian devotional edition.

{five} phone case from Ampersand Design Studio. I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t love getting a new phone case for Christmas. I love the bright colors and fun text of this one.

{six} necklace from eNVe Designs. Ngan, the talented designer behind eNVe, makes beautiful, one of a kind jewelry that was even featured in this year’s Kansas City Fashion Week. A necklace like this one is perfect for the jewelry-lover in your life.

{seven} scarf from Day 22 Boutique. I love gifts that give back, and this scarf (and anything else you buy from Day 22) will do just that. In this beautifully curated boutique, you’ll find gifts that are charitable, fair-trade, recycled, and made in the US.

{eight} throw from Happy Habitat. This is definitely a splurge, but if you want to spoil someone this year, a colorful, soft throw made from recycled cotton would do the trick. Happy Habitat offers several unique designs, and even mini sizes for the littles you love. This one is at the top of my wish list!

Are you shopping local for any of your gifts this year?
