Currently: June

I’m joining Anne and Jenna for their monthly Currently linkup. Be sure to head to their blogs to see what everyone is up to.

May was another month that breezed right by. Busy is starting to feel like the new normal around here. I’m thankful that I at least had a little time for some r & r over Memorial Day weekend; it was just what I needed to get me through the rest of the month. Here are a few things I’ve been enjoying lately.

{playing} pretend sports. Rather, Jona has been playing pretend sports. Lately he’s taken to swinging his xylaphone stick like a baseball bat or a golf club. When Zulily had a sale on Little Tikes outdoor toys, I bought the poor deprived child a tee ball set so he can play the real thing. I can’t wait to see him hit one “outta da pahk” (out of the park).

{going} to all the parties, weddings, and showers. For the past couple of months, I feel like we’ve had a wedding, a birthday party, or a baby/wedding shower just about every weekend. Luckily, they’ve all been really fun. Last weekend it was a birthday party for a friend’s little 2-year-old, and Jona had a blast. (Lots of sugar and a parachute, what’s not to love, right?)

{wearing} spring floral. Stripes will always be my MVP (most valuable pattern, yeah?) but lately I can’t get enough floral. Along with a floral dress and cardigan, I recently added a sleeveless floral button up to my closet as well. Oh, and a pair of floral sneakers may have just shown up on my doorstep as well (free thanks to a Twice credit!).

{sipping} nutella cookie dough milkshake. I checked another one off of my summer food bucket list and made this nutella oatmeal cookie shake from How Sweet it is. However, I changed it up a little; instead of using coconut milk and  crushed ice I used chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and a splash of milk. Two thumbs up!

{reading} All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. I admit it, I’m a sucker for good World War II literature. And this is one of the good ones. I love a story told from multiple perspectives, and this one alternates between Marie-Laure, a blind Parisian girl, and Werner, a mathematically-gifted German boy. This is one that I’ve been staying up too late for because I just want to read one more chapter
