I remember my first pair of Converse sneakers. They were turquoise blue high tops, and traded out the boring white laces for a pair in bright orange (#80sforever). I’m pretty sure I wore them when I was on an all-boys tee-ball team with one other girl. Before you get impressed about my childhood athletic ability, know that my parents have video of me doing cartwheels and picking dandelions in the outfield. You know you’re not surprised.
My feet may have gotten a heck of a lot bigger and I may have toned down my color choices, but I’m still a shoe-lover with limited athletic ability. I’ve amassed quite the collection of Converse Chuck Taylors over the years (including pairs in gray, pink, and plaid) but I think this white pair is my favorite yet.
The slip-on style is appealing to my lazy side (because tying shoelaces is SO hard) and the white, but not too white color goes with everything. Today, they pair perfectly with denim and pastels. However, I may have to keep my eye out for a pair of bright orange shoelaces.
Do you remember a favorite pair of shoes you wore as a child?
