Hey, happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all the men and women who bravely risk their lives to serve our country. US readers, I hope you’re enjoying your long weekend. I’m not sure if it was the anticipation of the extra day or what, but last week felt like it went in slow motion. At least between the hours of about 8 and 5…funny how that works, right?
Today I have an outfit that is perfect for a variety of Memorial Day plans. It’s made up of two summer holiday weekend staples: stripes and an elastic waist. Navy blue stripes with subtle chambray polka dots look subtly patriotic yet far from over the top. Plus, what Memorial Day plans don’t involve some sort of food? The elastic waist ensures that I won’t regret going back for that second cookie. (Now I may sing a different tune when I get out my swimsuit for the next holiday weekend, but I’ll worry about that later.)
