Stripes, Sweater and Boots: My Uniform Lately

In my first few years writing this blog, I blogged more in "real time". By that, I mean I'd share my outfit the day after I actually wore it, and while not everything I wore was blogged, I was in the habit of sharing 4-5 outfits a week. As my life has changed, this blog has changed along with it, and I no longer take the time to take that many outfit photos each week. I also take (okay, Aaron takes) all of week's outfit photos in one day, and then I write and schedule my blog posts in advance. That's a whole other blog post, but I swear, keeping and editorial calendar and planning and scheduling my posts has become a lifesaver since becoming a mom!

The point I'm trying to make here--I promise, I do have one--is that now I have to be a lot more selective in my outfit-sharing choices. I wear clothes every day (I know--crazy, right!?) but only 2-3 outfits a week make it to the blog. As a result, outfits like this one, one that I wear all the dang time, get forgotten about and go unblogged. But not today! So when you see my outfits each week, just know that on the days I don't have an outfit post up, I'm probably wearing some version of this.

What do you wear on repeat right now?

Gray cardigan: Loft / striped top: Ann Taylor Factory / jeans: Gap / brown riding boots: Mia

  1. I totally get that! That's one of the biggest reasons why I don't do a lot of outfit posts anymore! And I pretty much had on a clone of this type of look yesterday! I love jeans and boots and layers!

  2. You really cannot go wrong with stripes, sweaters, and boots. I love this look and wear it myself a lot. It's easy but almost always looks pulled together and cute!

  3. I love all these looks and would wear them all in a beat. I am a stripe lover too. SO nice to meet you.

  4. This is one of my favorite looks. I'm having to work on a system for getting outfit shots done because my current system isn't working very well. I'm coming into work a bit late. I'll never be a fashion blogger. You're doing a great job and I'm glad you showed this outfit.

  8. Thanks so much Megan :) I totally understand--it's not easy to find the time!! Right now my husband takes my outfit shots on the weekend, but I don't know if that will always work. In the summer it's easier since days are longer, but it's hard when it's dark so early!

  9. It's a perfect kind of outfit for these winter days, isn't it? Love seeing some pops of color in your previous versions too though.

And also this is the beauty of not posting outfits every day, in my opinion... you can pick a few to post and then wear your favorites on repeat the rest of the days and nobody will know :)

  10. Thanks Anne. I agree--I definitely try to keep the "new" looks for the blog and then have easy go-to faves on repeat the other days. Then only my coworkers see how obsessed I am with striped shirts :)

  14. I've definitely made the switch from 'real time' blogging to getting things done ahead of time, it makes life so much easier. Love the stripes and cozy cardi - it's good to have simple looks that are still very polished.

  16. Thanks Lydia! I totally agree, I'm able to be so much more consistent when I plan everything out ahead of time.

  17. I'm the same as you, Shea - I used to blog every outfit the day I wore it, and I'd write my posts in like 2 minutes before going to work. That got to be way too much work, and as I've gotten more into blogging, I'm much more of a take-all-the-pictures-at-a-time and binge-write-posts kind of blogger, haha. I really like this outfit, by the way - what a cozy cardigan!!

  18. Thanks Brynn! I found the take all the pictures/write all the posts makes it a lot easier to get other things besides blogging done during the week! I think you just have to find whatever works and go with it!

  19. Oh my gosh, totally! I work on a computer much of the day at school, so I don't like coming home and spending even more time in front of my laptop...
