It is nice to know that even if spring sticks around and I decide that I MUST abandon my winter wardrobe because it's just too gosh dang nice outside, I have a few seasonless pieces in my closet right now that will work no matter the weather. (Who has two thumbs and loves a run-on sentence? This girl!!) This combination of a chambray shirt, graphic tee, and skinny jeans is a weekend-ready look that I love all year long.
Oh, also, happy St. Patrick's Day! I don't even have anything green on. How's that for lame?
What items do you consider to be seasonless?
Chambray shirt: Madewell / graphic tee: J.Crew Factory / dark skinny jeans: Gap / bracelet: Nickel and Suede / red shoes: Toms
Also, speaking of transitioning to spring, Anne of In Residence and I are teaming up next month for a spring style linkup. We would love for you to join us every Tuesday in April and link up a spring style post!
From the archives:
- 4 years ago: no green, just red and stripes.
- 1 year ago: wearing a little green with floral print.
Well denim of course, except maybe during that one heat wave of summer, but I feel the majority of my winter wear will transition into spring with a few changes. Heels over boots, cotton scarf over wool, two layers instead of three...
ReplyDeleteI'm not wearing green on the blog, or in real life today, but I did paint my nails mint green over the weekend.

I agree with you, a chambray shirt is pretty much something for year round wear! It's one of my most worn items in my own closet I think, next to I suppose my jeans? I think basic t-shirts are important for year round wear too. And a lot of cardigans I get use out of year round, I can wear them if it's cool from air conditioning in the summer and for an extra layer in the winter.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for your spring link up in April! I will definitely play along, I'm always looking for blog post inspiration! This sounds so fun!!!
I did wear green today but I'm a big Irish nerd, lol.
I agree--those are just the right changes for spring. Fewer, lighter layers always work.
ReplyDeleteAnd mint green totally counts! I'm wearing olive green pants in real life, so I'm not totally un-festive :)
I'm with you on jeans and cardigans--I get use out of mine year round for sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay! I'm so glad you'll join in :) Looking forward to seeing your spring style!
No, you SHOULD be wearing green, I wish I were more festive! It's always on St. Patrick's day that I realize that I have no green in my closet. So I dug up some olive green pants (that now that I've been wearing them for a few hours am realizing they don't really fit) and green earrings and calling it good :)
A chambray shirt is definitely seasonless. And I am loving light, long cardigan sweaters for Spring/Summer, too!
ReplyDeleteI just love that graphic t-shirt on you. It's the signature Shea piece--that and those hot pink pumps. I pretty much like any outfit you wear with either of those.
ReplyDeleteThanks Megan!! :) I feel like I wear this graphic tee all the time (because I love it) so it's nice to hear that you like it too!
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with chambray and adorable red shoes. Love this!! And I'm really tempted to try a capsule wardrobe, hmmm, might just have to jump on board! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Veronika! I really like the capsule wardrobe concept, it's been a good way for me to keep myself from buying too much stuff. But right now I'm kind of sick of my winter capsule since I'm ready for spring!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have anything green on in my post today, either. St. Patrick's Day kinda snuck up on me this year, ha.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to break out all my spring clothes!

I think I used to get more excited about it, when the only thing I had to do on St. Pat's was drink green beer :) But yes, I feel ya on the spring clothes!
ReplyDeleteA chambray shirt is eternally relevant. It's light for hot days & perfect for layering on cool days.

I completely agree. Thanks Carmen!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie! It is super comfy and soft :)
ReplyDeleteA chambray shirt is a closet "must have." :) You wear yours well. T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks Tina! I agree for sure that it is a must-have, I couldn't live without it!!
ReplyDeletei love this! i need to find a way to wear it as a cardigan today!
ReplyDeleteThis is great to transition into Spring. You know I love the tee and your Toms. I will definitely join you and Anne on the 21st. Please remind me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elle! It's the perfect cardigan substitute :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ada! I'm so glad you'll join in next month!
ReplyDeleteLove that graphic tee!
ReplyDeleteThanks Krysten, it's one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteGreen is my favorite. I think I should buy more green. Hope you had a good one. I'm loving this warmer weather, though it's not so warm today. XO -Alexandra

I agree, I need more green too. It's just not a color I'm drawn to for some reason, but I do like it. Thanks Alexandra!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I desperately need to find a graphic tee that I like - I love outfits like these! I saw a bicycle graphic tee online at Old Navy that I'd really love...perhaps it's time to use some rewards! :)
ReplyDeleteI have worn the HECK out of this graphic tee, so I can say that if you find one you like, go for it!! Old Navy has had some cute ones lately too!
