Goals for March and February Goal Review

I have to say, knowing that I would be sharing how I did on last month’s goals really motivated me to get to work! I should have started doing this years ago…I would have gotten so much more done! (Yes, it’s only March…we’ll see if this lasts. By the end of the year I may no longer care if you think I’m lazy.)

February Goal Recap

Home:

1. Buy and hang shelf for dining room. I finally made it to IKEA, where I found these shelves. I still need to add more things to the shelves, but the shelves are up.

2. Organize and clear out cabinet under kitchen sink. This one is mostly done. However, I do need to get some sort of bin or basket to store all our cleaning supplies, or they won’t stay neat and tidy for long.

Blog:

1. Order new blog business cards. I ordered these from Minted (just in time for a blog conference I attended) and I love them!

2. Create a schedule/routine for social media. This one is still a work in progress. I’ve been making it  a habit to be more regular with my Instagram posting. Twitter is still a challenge. I signed up for Hootsuite but haven’t done any tweet-scheduling; I have, however, been using it more frequently than I did before.

Fun / Family:

1. Fill album with January pictures and details, and print February’s pictures at the end of the month. Done! (As seen here.)

2. Try a new recipe for Jona. I made Applesauce Muffins from Deceptively Delicious and the jury’s still out. Jona ate a few bites and then moved on to the fruit portion of his breakfast, and didn’t look back. Aaron and I liked them though, so it wasn’t a lost cause.

3. Read more than two books. See the three books I read here

March Goals

Home:

1. Finish organization projects started last month. I made some progress last month, but I need a few things to make a lasting difference. As I mentioned above, I need a basket to store cleaning supplies. I also need some desk-area storage solutions. (Preferably something that I can hang on the wall to get the clutter off of the desk.)

2. Hang updated family pictures on the wall. And by family pictures, I mean pictures of Jona. (I wish we had some of all of us!) I want to try this idea from My Only Sunshine.

3. Sharpen knives. I know, this is a strange goal. But my kitchen knives are getting really dull!

Blog:

1. Create a media kit. This is one of the “big” blogging goals I mentioned at the beginning of the year. I’m feeling motivated to grow my blog after attending the Go Blog Social Workshop last month, so why not harness that energy!

2. Use social media consistently. This is a continuation from last month’s goal; I may not have gotten it down to a routine just yet, but I’d like to at least be consistent and focused in the social media channels that I post on (Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google Plus…boy that seems like a lot). This post on The Well is going to be my jumping off point.

Fun / Family:

1. Fill photo album with February pictures and memories, and print photos for March. I’m going to keep putting this goal down each month until it’s become a part of my monthly routine. I can’t wait to use some of the awesome stuff that Kimberly sent me!

2. Take Jona to a local kid-friendly place or event. We’ve been so busy lately that it’s been a challenge to go anywhere on the weekends other than our usual errand-running stops, but I’m hoping to take the time to explore a museum or park if it’s nice enough.

3. Try a new hairstyle. Now that my hair is getting longer, it’s getting to where I can actually start doing stuff with it. Which is great! Except I don’t know how to do stuff with it. Pinterest will be my master-teacher this month.
