Dressed for a Spring-Teaser

February is a dangerous time to already have spring thoughts. It's hard not to get confused though, meteorologically (don't try to shame me red squiggly line, I'll make up words when I want), when it goes from a cold, snowy 7 degrees one day, to a sunny 60 the next. But on those nice days, it's impossible not to start thinking about spring.

On those spring-teaser days, this is exactly the kind of outfit I wear. Happily I slip my feet into flats without socks and don a lightweight blazer as my only outerwear. It's nice to ditch the boots and heavy coat every once in a while. Chances are the break will be short-lived, and we'll be back to gray skies and below freezing temps tomorrow.

What do you wear for a surprise warm day?

Camel blazer: Target / graphic tee: J.Crew Factory / blue cords: Gap / necklace: Bauble Bar / leopard flats: Dr. Scholl's

  2. Thanks Sarah! I had to break out the boots again today, but it was nice to go with flats for a little while :)

  3. I seriously laughed at your comment about the red squiggly line - I totally have that same thought when I make up words!! I love the printed shirt under the blazer, I have never tried that look and I want to. I might have to do that soon in fact. And I wish it was warm here, it is seriously cold. And goodness your hair is getting long! I have to admit I'm jealous! I wish I had the drive to grow mine out!! I love how yours is looking!

  4. Ha, thanks Beth! And ironically enough, today is the coldest day of the week--it's in the 20s! (When I took these pictures it was 60 out!) So now I'm wishing for that day back...
Thanks for the hair encouragement! Some days I want to just chop it all off again. Styling it takes so much longer now--I miss the days I could just dry it and go! But I've made it this far, I may as well keep going. I like your hair short though! Actually, short is my favorite style for me too, but I had it short for so long I needed a change. I know that I'll ultimately end up with it short again (hopefully after a few years of enjoying it long though, fingers crossed...). If only it were as easy as just trading hairs for a few days :)

  5. ALWAYS flats for a spring teaser day. Bare ankles are bliss when you're getting super sick of the boot options. Love being able to do jacket/blazer as outerwear too - pulled out my utility jacket the other day and it was so nice to not have to try to squeeze it under my down coat for once :)

And I love your graphic tee combos! This is such a cute one and is so fun with a blazer and great necklace.

  6. So chic and effortless looking. I recently bought my first blazer and am looking for ways to wear it--love this look with jeans, a t-shirt and statement necklace. We've been having spring-like weather here too and I've been enjoying flats without socks. It' a nice break, but I wouldn't mind just a little bit more winter.

  7. I know, right! I was SO excited to pull out the flats and put the heavy coat away! But today both the boots and coat are back out...boo.
    Thanks Anne!

  8. Thanks Megan! I look forward to seeing how you style your blazer too!
We're back to winter weather around here (at least for today). I like the random spring days, but it's been such a roller coaster!

  12. Thanks! I feel like winter here has alternated between years lately--last year it was really cold and we got quite a bit of snow, but this year we've hardly had any snow and we've had a few spring-like days. My husband (a teacher) wants snow days, but I like it mild!

  16. Ooh yes I can't wait to break out the sandals when it gets REALLY warm...it hasn't been quite that warm yet though. (At least not for my cold feet!) Thanks Gina! :)

  17. Yes, it's the BEST when you don't have to wear a coat. Now it's back to bundling up around here, I'm afraid. :(
