These red corduroys were my first foray into brightly colored pants, and I've been a fan ever since. I didn't include them in my fall capsule, but I pulled them out in December and wore them enough that I felt the need to add them to winter. Adding them in was a good decision; nothing brightens up a cold, dreary day, like bright red pants. Well, bright red pants plus a cup of hot cocoa. Okay, bright red pants plus a cup of spiked hot cocoa.

I love, love, love that you pairing your looks with already existing pieces from your wardrobe. That what I'm all about. And lets be realistic not all of us have huge walk in wardrobe to fill it to brim with beautiful clothes. Most of us are struggling, so I think inspirations like your look is just perfect. You look gorgeous. I like how you styled these red pants. Casual yet chic.

i love those red cords!!! such a pop of fun, esp in winter
ReplyDeleteLove the bright pop of color! Thanks for reminding me that I need to pull my colored denim out... they've gotten shoved to the back of the closet.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! I have red pants I haven't worn in ages, I think I need to pull them out again, there is something about a nice pop of color like that!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexandra! That's what I love about classic pieces like blazers, they really do stand the test of time!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ramona. I couldn't agree more--most women don't have an unlimited budget or wardrobe, so I try to keep it real around here :) Thanks for your sweet words!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elle! I think winter especially calls for bright color from time to time!
ReplyDeleteI really want some colored pants! They always look so good in the outfits posts! You look great! Nice blazer. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire! Yeah, these pants were hiding all fall too and I just recently pulled them out--how did I forget them!? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! I kind of forgot about this pair when I didn't include them in my fall capsule, but I'm really glad I remembered them because they're just what I need for the gray days of winter :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kari! I love how colored pants can really pop against lots of neutrals--they're a lot more wearable than I originally thought they'd be!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I say this every day, but I think you do such an amazing job with basics. You throw together pants, a tee, and a blazer, and it always manages to look so put together. This outfit is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou can always count on a bright trouser like this to perk an outfit up- love it!

I always think they make my thighs look huge... maybe that's just my own perception?
ReplyDeleteI didn't include my red pants in the winter capsule because of those " too Christmasy" fears of wearing them after December - but I'm starting to think that was a mistake! Love the bright color for a dreary day, and you transition them into post-holiday so well with this color scheme! So great with the graphic tee/blazer combo.
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet! I sometimes feel like all I have are basics (which can be boring I fear) so this makes me feel good. Thanks!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley!
ReplyDeleteLove those red cords! I don't own a ton of colored pants, but I'm hoping to add a pair or two to my wardrobe once this pregnancy is over. :)
ReplyDeleteI had that same fear, but I wore them so much in December that I didn't want to miss them! I'm hoping that all my neutrals will keep them from entering the Christmas zone too often. Thanks Anne!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jana! I remember having such a long "wardrobe wishlist" while I was pregnant--it's so hard to have such a limited wardrobe (that just continues to get more limited, it seems) during pregnancy. You manage to look so stylish and put-together though!
ReplyDeleteThank you! That is so sweet of you to say! :)
ReplyDeleteRed pants are going on my wish list now. You look great. Cheers with the spiked hot cocoa!
ReplyDeleteThanks Megan! I've gotten a surprising amount of wear out of these bright red pants. And yes, cheers!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love those cords, they're fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Krysten!
ReplyDeleteI think it's more about the fit than the color--I've tried a few that are not very flattering but finally found a few pairs that I like.
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome! I never really branch out beyond black and shades of denim, but I love outfits with colorful trousers - maybe that will be my brave clothing attempt this year :)
ReplyDeleteLove this look! My post day was almost filled with classic pieces I already had in my closet too!

Thank you! You should definitely get some colorful pants--I've found them to be a lot more wearable than I originally thought!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kat! Those are the best, when you can wear them again and again :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
Love how you've styled these! So cute with the graphic tee.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple striped tees which I've been wearing to death over the last few years.
Chic on the Cheap
Thanks Lydia! I love striped tees--they never go out of style so I'm always reaching for them too!
ReplyDeleteYes to a cup of spiked cocoa! That's something I can never say no to :) I love the bright red pants and I totally agree that they are perfect for a dreary winter day!
ReplyDeleteMe neither...I love it way too much :) And thanks so much Ashley!!
ReplyDeleteI have just this year become a huge fan of bright colored pants - but now I don't know what I would do without them! Love your red cords (especially paired with those leopard flats!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Chessa! I agree, I became hooked on colored pants too--they're so much more wearable than I once thought they'd be!
ReplyDeleteoooo--i am loving your "power pants"! you paired them very well, methinks!
