One of the new additions to my closet for winter is this plaid dress I found at Gap (during their additional 60% off sale promotion, whoop whoop!). Plaid is right up there with stripes in the "patterns I'm loving right now" game, so I knew that scooping up this dress would be a wardrobe win. Just like my favorite plaid shirts, this dress is very layer-able. For a cold winter day, paired it with a bright cardigan, tights, boots, and a navy printed scarf.
What is your go-to pattern right now?
Yellow cardigan: Target / navy plaid dress: Gap / scarf: Old Navy / belt: Loft / boots: Mia
This is so cute! I especially love it with the scarf! :) I keep doing the gingham/buffalo check with floral, or stripes with floral. My favorites. Back in the blogging world.. :) XO -Alexandra

I adore plaid for fall & winter, your Gap dress is absolutely perfect + styled so cute!! As for my beloved patterns? Definitely looking to add more plaid!! :D
ReplyDeletePlaid is always a go to pattern for me! I love your new dress, it looks great with the yellow cardigan!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good print mix. My go-to right now is lumberjack plaid in red 'n black. And make it flannel, because it's SO cold!

Oh my goodness I am in love with this outfit! You look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled the plaid dress. So cute. The mix of prints and colors is great and that scarf is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexandra! I love both of those print mixes too--especially stripes with floral! I just realized I don't think I have any floral in my winter capsule... I'll have to bring it back for spring!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Veronika! I agree, there's just something about plaid this time of year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! I've never tried plaid in a dress before but I really like it--plaid for the win! :)
ReplyDeleteYES to the flannel--we need it big time around here. It's sad when I start to look forward to weather in the 30s. Heck, even the 20s.
ReplyDeleteThank you Krysten!! You're so sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think this dress is a winner--it was one of those "looks awful on the hanger but I'll try it" numbers and I'm glad I did!
ReplyDeleteYou should! I love how surprisingly versatile it is! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of plaid too - what a great find!

Hope to see you for TBT Fashion link up.
Thanks Alice! It was a pretty good find I think! :)
ReplyDeleteThe dress was a great find! Cozy and cute, and a great way to get a little more pattern in - but still so versatile.
ReplyDeleteEspecially since I don't work in an office setting any more, I really don't wear dresses/skirts often in the winter - pretty much just for warmth reasons. I almost didn't put any in my capsule, but sometimes you need them for occasions, and sometimes you just want a little something different. So I appreciate the layering inspiration to warm it up!
