My wardrobe right now is packed full of neutrals, but I love having a few stand-out pieces to mix in with all the grays, blacks, and navies. It's the bold colors, fun prints, and statement-making jewels that keep me on board with the whole capsule wardrobe thing, and help me to still feel excited about putting outfits together. (Well, that and Pinterest of course.)
What's your most-complimented item?
Gray dress: Loft / black tights: Target / pink suede heels: Nine West
Linking up to the Creative Closet today for "Pretty in Pink" and Putting Me Together for #PMTStyleChallenge.
I always love when you wear those heels. The bright pop of pink is so fun against the black/grey outfit. Your dress is so cute, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks lady! They always give me a mood boost when it's cold and gloomy out :)
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this simple look, Shea. And a big yes to neutrals - can't get enough either! Happiest week to you! xo
ReplyDeleteI love your tights and your shoes!! I'm really getting into the whole tights thing now since I bought a pair of fleeced lined ones from Target!
ReplyDeleteProbably my most complimented thing I own in the dress I got from Argentina. :)
What a fun way to mix in your pink! I'm always so hesitant to buy a pop of color in my shoes, but that's such a fun way to dress up and make a statement! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty shade of pink! Nothing like a little pop of color to brighten up your neutrals. :)

They are great shoes! I love the color, I can see why you get so many compliments on them! I am not sure what I get the most compliments on. Might be some shoes too and I get a lot of compliments on scarves that I wear.
ReplyDeleteLove the color of your shoes, but what I am REALLY loving is the texture in your dress! I think it adds so much interest to your outfit. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Veronika! I love the simplicity of a dress and tights...can't get much simpler than that for winter! Have a great week too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kari! Ooh I still haven't tried any fleece-lined tights but I think I need to get a pair as soon as possible. And a dress from Argentina sounds like a memorable piece!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I've been buying all the neutrals lately but I do love to have a bright shoe to keep me from feeling too blah :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley! They were just the color I needed to brighten up this cold gray day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! I totally agree about your scarves--you have a great scarf collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jana! I fell in love with this dress at Loft and had to get it even though it's not the most versatile item ever (it's too thick to do a lot of layering with, the accents are black and I have a lot of brown, etc.). But I like it too :)
ReplyDeleteThose are a great pair of heels! It's always nice to have a standout piece in your wardrobe to brighten up all the neutrals.

Count me in as one who loves those shoes on you. This outfit is no exception and they add a great pop of color. I think the thing I wear that usually gets the compliments is scarves....which is why I keep buying them. Did you see Audrey (Putting Me Together) style challenge for this week? It's dresses. You should definitely add this cute post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia! I agree, I need a few pops of bright colors to go along with my sea of neutrals! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Megan!! Oh yes, you do have a lot of cute scarves!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I did just see that at Putting Me Together! I think I will link up, thanks! (I love her blog too.)
What beautiful shoes! I've only ever really worn neutral shoes, but I've been feeling the itch to get a little more exciting lately - these would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteThese are so fun! I really need more interesting shoes... :) I'm such a basics girl when it comes to them! :) These are so great for winter and really make your outfit pop! :) XO - Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
I adore colorful shoes! One of the ways that I add some fun to an often black / grey outfit :) Those are super cute! I like the knit dress with textured tights too !
ReplyDeleteThanks Nadia! I love how a brightly color shoe can add a fun touch to an all-neutral outfit :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexandra!! I've kind of been the opposite--buying mostly basics for my clothes but then trying to have a little fun with shoes. I think it all balances out :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too, I have tons of neutrals right now but I love adding bright shoes!
ReplyDeletei literally just saw that same shade on another blog--it's a sign i need to get them. they are SO pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elle. Yes you definitely SHOULD!! :)
ReplyDeleteThose heels are FANTASTIC, I love that color!
ReplyDeleteThanks Krysten!! I'm loving this color right now too :)
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Who knew there were so many options for layering with a shirtdress? I certainly didn't :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda!! It's a lot more versatile than I thought too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful pop of color. I'm definitely a PINK girl myself. These are perfect on you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kishina! I love pink too, these heels always make me happy :)
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are pretty darn cool, Shea! I'm not a heels girl, and I'm actually kind of surprised at myself that I don't have many colorful shoes anymore (I used to have one pair of black flats and all my other shoes were colorful!!). I do have a pair of red TOMS that I love to wear for an extra pop of color sometimes, though. Dang, I kind of wish I had included them in my capsule, now that I think of it!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, that dress is one of the greatest things in your closet - I love the detail on the shoulders!
Thanks so much Brynn!! I'm not much of a heels-wearer either; these are nice and low with a chunky heel. I'm not very graceful in stilettos. I have a pair of red Toms too, and I wear the heck out of those babies.
ReplyDeleteI must say your style is very impressive and you kid is sooooo cute <3 You have a fantastic blog and all the pictures are wonderful! Loved everything!
