Wardrobe MVPs: Favorite Casual Pieces

I think I'm still in a bit of a post-Christmas candy daze, and I know Jona is in a post-Christmas toy daze. I've always loved Christmas, but it's gotten even more fun since having Jona. Over the weekend we did Christmas with Aaron's side of the family, and with three kids (3, almost 2, and Jona-16 months) it was pretty entertaining. Did you have a good Christmas?

Today I'm wearing an outfit that consists of pieces that I consider my wardrobe MVPs, pieces that I wear over and over again. My favorite cargo jacket, a simple gray sweater, dark wash skinny jeans, and ankle boots--perfect for a day of relaxing, errand running, and clearing out some old toys to make way for new ones.

Cargo jacket: Old Navy / gray sweater: Gap / dark skinny jeans: Gap / scarf: c/o Ross / taupe ankle boots: Target

  1. I love my utility vest.... I think I would love a jacket too, though I probably wouldn't *need* both. :) Seriously on the hunt for similar ankle booties. Glad you had a great Christmas! XO -Alexandra

  2. Christmas really is more fun with a child! I'm glad you had a good one! I love this cargo jacket, I wish I had one. I love my cargo vest, but a jacket would be warmer now that it's gotten quite cold here again!

  3. What fun to have three little ones together for Christmas. Love the way you styled the rolled jeans and the ankle boots.

  7. Well as someone who has both I can say I really do use them both :) But you know, I guess I can't say I truly need them :) I just found some great ankle booties at DSW!

  8. I totally agree--I hope Oliver had fun too! I do love this jacket, although it's getting to the point here that it's too light to wear without a bunch of layers.

  9. Thanks Megan!! Yes it was a hoot to see Jona playing with his two cousins. One (the three year old) thinks he's just wonderful, the other thinks he's a huge nuisance. She just took away his toys and said "baby no" to him a lot :) Pretty funny.

  11. Thanks Anne! I know, toys everywhere!! That's what we did with his birthday toys, we saved some for a rainy day. And he's still happier playing with the cardboard in our recycle basket than anything else...go figure :)

  12. Super casual after christmas just fills the bill. We need to take it easy after the craziness of the holiday.
