Pinterest Inspired Gift-wrap

Most years I'm a bargain-bin wrapping paper kind of gal; why spend time and money making gifts look cute when it's just going to be torn to shreds, right? But then, Pinterest. I've come across way too many cute gift-wrap ideas lately, and most of them look surprisingly do-able and not ridiculous. (Like this one.)

So this year, armed with some brown kraft paper, a rubber stamp, twine, and markers, I got crafty with my wrapping. I stamped the packages after I wrapped (the lazy route) but it would probably look better to stamp the paper first. The verdict? This was SO easy, and I love how it turned out. I also liked writing the name of the person the gift is for right on the package instead of worrying about gift tags. I'll be doing this again for sure.

What's your gift wrapping style?

  1. This is such a great idea! I always have tons of extra paper bags laying around, I bet that would work in a pinch too!

  7. I nabbed it when Hobby Lobby was having a 50% off sale. I went a little stamp-happy and stamped our Christmas card envelopes too :)

  8. Such a good idea! I always love kraft paper wrapped packages, for starters. So classic, and there's so much you can do to give it a little variety. I've done a Pinterest inspired polka dot wrapping paper with paints before, but I like this stamp one even better because you don't have to wait for it to dry like the paint! These look great, and thanks for linking as always :)

  9. Thanks! I agree about kraft paper--I've never used it before but I LOVE it--it's so versatile! I went through lots of ideas when I was trying to pick a holiday pin-to-present craft and settled on this one because it was so dang easy! (Plus I needed to wrap presents anyway.)

  11. Yeah I understand that! It's not my favorite either. Actually usually my husband does most of the wrapping. He likes it--he's mr. "I love geometry!" math teacher :)
