Colored Skirt Remix with Just Jacq

Today I'm joining Jacquelyn of Just Jacq for her "Many Ways" blogger challenge featuring a colored skirt.

When the weather was warmer, my turquoise pencil skirt got quite a bit of wear. However, I have a more difficult time styling it for cold weather. I joined Jacquelyn's 2 Ways feature to challenge myself to layer up this warm-weather favorite for winter weather.

For one look I added tights and booties for warmth, and a mix of spots and dots (a favorite combo of mine) for fun. For the other, I added my coziest cardigan and tall boots. Winter tends to make me want to live in jeans and cords (or if I'm being completely honest, pajamas), but sometimes I'm looking for something that's a little more dressed up and professional.

  1. What a fun little style challenge. Love your teal skirt with the waterfall cardigan. I feel like I've really been neglecting my pencil skirts lately, but I've been cold and jeans have been a possibility.

  3. Thanks, it was fun! Yes, I've definitely been reaching for my jeans and cords more often too. I'm trying to get some wear out of these skirts though!

  5. Fun style challenge! I love the color of your skirt and both ways you styled it, the sweater is really cute. I haven't been wearing skirts as much since it has been so cold but now that it's warming up a bit I'm pulling them out again!

  6. Loved seeing you on this many ways challenge... colored skirts are a great idea for a many ways style-up because there really is so much you can do with them, and they're great for a little excitement when the winter days start feeling blah. Love these ideas for making them cold-weather appropriate!

  7. Thanks Beth! I tend to forget about my skirts when it's cold too, but I have a serious pants-shortage in my wardrobe right now so I need to do my best at cold-weather skirt wearing!

  8. Thanks Anne. I agree, a pop of color is just what I need on those gray days sometimes. And with all the neutrals I have in my closet it's nice to have something bright to go with them.
