Sportswear Workwear

I promise, this is the last of the baseball wear. I had a different outfit planned, but when we won Game 6 on Tuesday I couldn't help but wear this Royals tee yesterday to bring some luck to Game 7. It may not have worked (we lost), but I'm still very proud to be a Royals fan and proud of all we accomplished this season. What a year!

Like all my Royals gear, this denim pencil skirt has seen its fair share of wear (I'm a poet!) over the past couple of years. But I'm ready to let it go and find a replacement. It's getting pretty faded, and I'm not crazy about the fit or the weight of the fabric. I can't decide if I want to find a similar dark denim pencil skirt, or if I'd rather get a skirt that's equally versatile, but different in shape and style. Help a girl out--what would you do? What's your go-with-everything skirt?

  1. I love this look! I am sorry the Royals lost though! I can understand wanting to replace this skirt. I am a fan of pencil skirts. I love one that is almost more of a jersey knit material, Old Navy has some I think.

  2. Aghhhh, that game was heart-wrenching! But our guys really took us on a ride this October, didn't they? Definitely energized this city in a way I haven't seen before- it was amazing! :)

  3. Thanks Beth! I like the idea of the jersey knit. I had a stretchy knit one from Old Navy that I bought right after I had Jona that I loved, but doesn't fit quite right any more. I'll have to check them out again, they always have cute stuff. Thanks!

  4. Cute outfit! Love the botties with the skirt and the statement necklace with a blazer--all of it. And sorry about the Royals, but it was so exciting to have made it that far. I also wore those Old Navy jersey pencil skirts right after I had my last baby, but now that things have "settled down a bit," I'm loving the ON denim pencil skirt. It still has a bit of stretch, but is a bit more structured.

  5. Oh I know it--and when Alex Gordon got a hit in the last inning to get our hopes up?! My heart barely survived. But YES, October was so much fun, I'm so proud of all that happened.

  7. Thanks Megan. I know, it is pretty awesome that we got as far as we did, I'm grateful. I'll check out ON and see if they still have a denim pencil skirt, structured but still a little stretchy is exactly what I'm going for. Thanks!

  12. Love the denim pencil skirt - I don't give mine nearly enough love, but I'm not super crazy about length. I love it dressed up with a great blazer though.
