Strawberry Angel Food Layers

Something I did a lot more of in my pre-mom days was bake. I have a major sweet tooth, and spending a weekend afternoon in the kitchen baking is a relaxing retreat in my opinion. Life has sure gotten busier, but that doesn't mean I don't crave a (homemade) sweet treat from time to time. I came across this super easy, no-bake dessert on Iowa Girl Eats and I knew it would satisfy my sweet tooth AND be easy and quick to make. (Plus, it's the perfect "farewell to summer" dish. Use those strawberries while they're still good!)

Although I do hope to do more baking in the future (especially once Jona is old enough to help--I can't wait for that!), desserts like this are the perfect go-tos for busy days.

I'm joining Anne of  In Residence for her Pin to Present linkup today. Be sure to check it out!

  1. Yum! I love a good strawberry shortcake! This looks delicious! I agree with you though - I did much more baking in my pre-mom days. A little bit of baking when I was on maternity leave, I could babywear and bake cookies! Now it's a lot harder, but like you, I can't wait until Ollie can help me in the kitchen!

  2. Oh, I used to love baking with my dad (side story: growing up, I didn't really realize for a long time that moms are usually the ones who bake, because my mom never does, and my dad does a ton...), and you're right - I'm so excited for when Henk can join me in it! Such a fun thing to do together. In the meantime, I love these no-bake but still super delicious ideas too. Plus sometimes I like to avoid having too much left in the house to tempt me, so single serving dishes are good too :) Thanks for linking up again!!

  3. I love to cook, but I am a terrible baker. I can handle a box mix and a couple of custard type pies, but that's about it. This recipe is just my style! It's pretty and looks delicious!

  4. These are adorable and look delicious! Stopping by from Anne's link up!

I really appreciate hearing from you!
