Froyo Sweater

I used to have a pale pink cardigan very similar to this one. (See?) It got a hole in the shoulder, and I missed it so desperately that I bought this one earlier this year as a replacement. Who buys multiple pale pink cardigans? I do friends, I do. As is the case with many replacements, it's just not the same as the original. It's not like I ordered Coke and was brought a Pepsi (NOT the same), more like I asked for ice cream and got frozen yogurt instead. I like frozen yogurt, and don't get me wrong, I will eat it. Especially if there are lots of chocolaty mix-ins. Like Oreos. And Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Ooh and toffee bits. Wait, what were we talking about again? I knew this would be a dangerous metaphor. Ah yes, the "new" sweater. Definitely the froyo to my old sweater's ice cream.

I realize now that an alternate name for this blog could be "How to turn any conversation into one about ice cream."

My question for you is, do you replace well-loved items that aren't necessarily basics? Or do you just mourn their loss and move on with your life?
