As much as I keep trying to deny it, August is here! So today I’m joining Anne and Jenna for their monthly “Currently” linkup. Here’s what I’m up to in the month of August.
1. Reading: I just finished The Book Thief, and I’m still in a bit of a good book coma. (You know, when you finish a book that’s really good and you try to read something else but you’re still thinking about the book you just finished? Anyone?) I started Lark and Termite by Jayne Anne Phillips but due to the aforementioned coma and the fact that I’m just pages in, I have yet to form an opinion of it yet.
2. Enjoying: sister time. My dad and step-mom just went on vacation, so my sister Jenny came to stay with us for the past week. I’ve enjoyed spending time with her; we’ve had fun painting our nails, baking cookies, and playing board games. Jona has also been in heaven; he loves his aunt Jenny!
3. Listening to: I’ve been on a bit of a country kick lately. While we were painting our walls, Aaron and I took turns choosing the tunes and I picked a lot of Dixie Chicks, Miranda Lambert, with a little George Strait mixed in.
4. Photographing: I’ve been lazy efficient lately and have been using my phone to take the majority of my photos. However, when I do break out the camera (other than for blog photos–but Aaron’s behind the lens there) it’s to take pictures of Jona. Not surprisingly, he’s usually the subject of most of my iPhone photos too. He’s so cute (and so funny lately) I just can’t help it!
5. Feeling: shocked, surprised, bewildered that my baby is about to be one! How did this year go by so quickly? It seems like only yesterday Aaron and I were anxiously waiting on Jona to get here. And wondering what he would look like, act like, and what this whole “being a parent” thing would be all about. What a ride it’s been!
