Navy Blue Prints and Red for a Memorable Weekend

I love starting the week on Tuesday. It feels like Monday, but because it's a day later, the week just seems to go better. Anyone else agree? This weekend was a whirlwind, with an equal mix of fun, cute baby antics, and relaxation. The fun included breakfast out with my boys, lunch with family, Jona being a good, happy baby during the aforementioned dining-out scenarios, and a nice Valentine's dinner at home with Aaron. (Notice how all my fun includes food?) Also, this weekend may go down in the record books because I managed to squeeze in two naps. A feat these days.

This guy also turned 6 months over the weekend. 6 months!! How has time gone so fast?

How I Spent My Snow Day

Well, I got my first snow day as a non-teacher on Tuesday. It was also my first snow day as a parent, which meant a lot more playing and a lot less napping than on previous snow days. However, I still may have treated myself to a mid-morning cup of coffee made Irish, as well as a glass of wine well before happy hour. If you can't indulge on a snow day, then when the heck can you?

I also indulged the baking kick I've been on by making some chocolate chip blondies while Jona was happily bouncing away in his bouncer. (So it sounds like I spent Tuesday drinking a lot and not holding my child. Awesome. I swear the rest of that day was spent playing with, holding, and being a devoted mother to Jona.)

What's your favorite thing to do on an unexpected day off?

Snow Way

Although we've had several bitterly cold days this year, Kansas City hasn't yet seen much snow. That's about to change, because a whole lot of it is headed our way today. Snow and I have a rocky relationship. I don't mind her when I'm bundled up at home with a nice cup of hot cocoa, but when I have to be out and about, I find her rather irritating. How do you and snow get along?

Today's outfit is made up of all oldies but goodies. I still get so many compliments on this skirt that I scored on the clearance rack at Gap a few years ago. (It's also the skirt I wore to meet Bobby Flay so it's got that going for it as well. Go skirt go!)
