32 Weeks: Pop of Neon

How is it possible that June is almost over? Where did this month go? Goodness, I went from feeling like I had so much time to get ready for Jona’s birth to feeling unsure if I’m going to get everything ready in time. (By the way I can’t remember if I told you that my little guy is going to be named Jona, after his wonderful late great grandpa. Well, now you know.)

I had class all weekend, and then I went to my best friend Abby’s daughter Addie’s first birthday party, which was adorable. I can’t believe she is already a year old! We joke about Jona being Addie’s future husband, so I hope she doesn’t mind a younger man. I’m sure they will be completely fine with their futures being planned out for them, right?

I'm behind again... I didn't get a chance to post again last week. I'm not making any promises this week, I'm just going to take it a day at a time. I just wish I had a few more hours in the day!

Summer Corals

The other day I started thinking about what I was doing this time last year, and I came up with a great big nothing. Let’s see, I wasn’t working (just job-hunting), I wasn’t going to school, and I wasn’t growing a human. So it’s no wonder last summer was a relaxing one while this one is an exhausting one!

I’m thankful, though, because this summer has already been full of some great memories. Over the weekend my mom came to visit, and we had so much fun going to garage sales, eating out, and chatting. Normally it would be a while before I get to see her again but she’s coming back in August (for the birth of her grandson of course!). Then Sunday I spent some time hanging out with my dad for Father’s Day, eating some delicious food and watching the Royals score another victory. In between all the fun I had to do lots of school work (I had a paper due Sunday night and another on Wednesday…gah!) but all in all it was a wonderful family-filled weekend.

These pictures are from last week, but hopefully I'll get a 32 week post up soon. Not that the hugeness of my belly changes much from week to week...

Is your summer a relaxing one or an exhausting one this year?

31 Weeks: Glammed Up Stripes

For some reason, I find taking blog photos more fun in the summer. I suppose it’s because the weather is nice and there is more daylight to work with. Usually my schedule is more relaxed too, although this summer that is certainly not the case. In fact, I only have a tiny pocket of time to write this before I have to get back to working on school stuff.

Anyway, I couldn’t resist this fun red wall to contrast with my maternity MVP: this blue striped dress from Old Navy. Although this is its blog debut, I’ve definitely worn the heck out of this dress, and I love how easily it can be dressed up or down, and how incredibly comfortable it is. I’d say dresses are my favorite thing to wear these days; sometimes the elastic band on maternity pants can get a little constricting (not to mention hot!).

What has been your most-worn item so far this summer?

30 Weeks: Double Stripes

I can’t believe it’s Friday again already! I had high hopes of getting more than one blog post in this week, but in the battle of my to-do lists versus time, time won out. (As did sleep; I’m downright scary these days if I don’t get enough of it.)

I’m looking forward to the weekend, although it will feel shorter than most. I have class on Friday night and all day Saturday. I tend to dread weekends I have class, but once I’m there I’m reminded how much I enjoy my classmates and what I’m learning; no doubt this weekend will be the same. Enjoyable or not, I’m sure by Sunday I’ll be exhausted; I may have to pencil a nap into my schedule. On second thought, forget penciling it in, “NAP” is going into my planner in bold black Sharpie.
