18 Weeks: Pink and Purple Hopes

For the district I sub in, next week is Spring Break. I can't believe it's that time of year already; this semester has flown by so quickly! I suppose the four days off for snow days are partly to blame. Before you envy me the time off, know that on days kids don't have school, I don't get paid, so it's a little bittersweet.

I wish I could say that I'm going on a tropical vacation over the break, but unless you call Hutchinson, Kansas tropical, I'm not. One thing I am looking forward to doing though is getting our nursery painted. I've decided on gray walls and white furniture, and I'll bring in lots of color with accessories. (I don't know which colors yet though, but I'm holding out hope for some pink and purple!)

Are you planning any fun vacations soon? Maybe I can live vicariously through you.

17 Weeks: Shades of Green

I'm in my first semester of library science classes right now, and they are definitely keeping me busy. That, combined with last week's loss of the internet, means that my time for blogging and reading blogs has been negligible. Don't even get me started on responding to comments... I'm having trouble finding a balance right now.

On the positive side, I am LOVING school. I really think I've found my place with library science. It's been a lot of work, which can be stressful, but for the most part I'm excited about what I've been learning. Could it be that I've finally found my dream career? I sure hope so. (Fourth time's a charm, right?)

16 Weeks: Striped Maxi Skirt and Snow

I’m actually 17 weeks pregnant this week, but these pictures are from last week. We had a couple of crazy snowstorms here in Kansas City the last couple of weeks that left us without power and internet. Surprisingly, our power was restored in a day, but for some reason the internet took nearly a week to fix. What a relief to have that back now!

This skirt is my first maternity purchase, because as many of you predicted, maxi skirts are heavenly right now. I only had one and I just had to get another. I didn’t like any of the ones in Target’s regular department, so when I spotted this one from Liz Lange Maternity I went for it even though my belly looks more too-much-ice cream than rounded-with-child.
