We eat a lot of burgers at my house. They’re quick, easy, and budget-friendly, three requirements for me most of the time. Friday I talked about how a white t-shirt is a blank canvas for style, and I think a burger falls into that same category when it comes to food.
The possibilities for a burger go way beyond the classic cookout version with ketchup and mustard, and I love exploring them. My most recent burger experiment was a Turkey Pesto Burger.
I love pesto, and since the heat hasn’t yet killed my basil plant, I took advantage and made a batch for these burgers. There are countless recipes out there, just keep experimenting until you find one you like. I used it twice in this recipe: mixed in the burger patties and spooned on top of the melted fresh mozzarella. I added a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, and served these burgers up with some roasted, seasoned potatoes.
What’s your favorite way to use pesto?
