Deja Vu: Floral Skirt 2 Ways

Is it just me or has summer flown by so far? I feel like I was teaching, then I blinked, and now it’s July. This weekend Aaron and I celebrated our 6th anniversary, which seems hard to believe. We treated ourselves to a nice dinner out, and if you follow me on twitter or Instagram (I’m @shealennon) you saw that I couldn’t help myself from taking pictures of the food.

Since it’s still hotter than blue blazes outside (sorry, that’s a “my mom” expression) I thought I’d write another post about dressing for the heat. One of my favorite things to wear in hot weather is this cotton floral mini skirt I got for a steal at Forever 21.

Tank top: Target; skirt: Forever 21; necklace: Forever 21; belt: Old Navy; sandals: BC Footwear

I styled it with a tank top in a different print for a funky, mixed print look. I wore this out to dinner with friends, and managed to stay cool while eating spicy Thai food. I like how the bright belt brought the two prints together.

The second look I wore to church yesterday, and despite the outdoor temperatures I froze my butt off during the service. I usually come prepared with a sweater, and I learned the hard way what happens when I don’t. Regardless of the cool indoors, I like how easy this look was to put together. I just threw on a white tee, sandals, and a necklace, and I was set.
