I had a very Kansas City Royals weekend: I went to Girls’ Night at the Royals on Friday and K-State Day yesterday. They won both games, which made it even better. I admit I didn’t pay much attention during girls’ night: we were more concerned with tailgating and having fun. I made up for it on Sunday’s game: I actually watched it from start to finish!

On Thursday Aaron and I took a little field trip to a landmark in our city (actually right down the street from us) to do a little exploring. We drive by this spot just about every day, but never take the time to really check it out.
I think that guy has his fashion blogger pose down, don't you?
It was built to commemorate my city’s 150th anniversary. While it’s located off of a busy street, right behind it is a tiny park. It seems like there are places like this all over, but I rarely make time to learn more about their histories. Now that it's summer and I have time, I’m going to try to make a point to do more exploring.
Are there any interesting parks or landmarks near where you live?
