Showered with Dots

What a whirlwind of a weekend. I think I need one more day to recover! I hosted my best friend Abby’s baby shower on Saturday, and it went really well. I think everyone had a good time, and I loved the way all the decorations turned out. And we all loved cooing over the cute little girl clothes—she is going to be one well-dressed girl!

Here's what was on the menu: Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs, Italian Pasta Salad, Sundried Tomato Basil Hummus (adapted from this recipe), clementines, and Funfetti cupcakes.

I can’t take all the credit for the shower. Two friends from college, Rachel and Victoria have a party planning shop on Etsy, RV Parties, and they designed the cute polka dot banner, the food labels and the cupcake sticks (as well as water bottle labels and adorable invitations). I painted the tablecloth and made the food, but I had lots of help putting everything together (thanks Abby and Lindsay!).

I forgot to take photos during the shower, but luckily Abby's mom remembered and took some post-shower shots. Here's me, Lindsay, Abby (the guest of honor), and Abbey.

Before this, I thought I hated planning parties and entertaining lots of people. I was so surprised with how much fun I had! Of course, having creative, helpful friends and family makes a big difference. I think I might even want to do this again sometime.

Do you enjoy hosting showers and parties, or does the thought of it overwhelm you?

  1. I love planning parties, I'm going to have to ahead and bookmark your friends wary shop! The dot theme is clever, it looks really nice :)

I really appreciate hearing from you!
