I got lots of rest this weekend, which was wonderful, but the best part of my weekend was meeting and holding (yay!) my new niece Briley. I might be a little biased, but I think she’s the most precious, perfect baby I’ve ever seen.
As for what I’m wearing, (Oh, this is a personal style blog? Right.) I broke out my new favorite skirt once again. Wearing this skirt makes me happy. I love the mix of colors and the funky print, and I can’t get enough of the fact that it has a sleek pencil skirt shape but is ridiculously comfortable to wear.
La nourriture: Living in Kansas on a tight budget means that I don’t get to cook as much seafood as I’d like to. So when Atlantic salmon went on sale last week at my grocery store, I snapped up a few fillets.
I love the flavor of salmon, and while it can stand up to grilling and adding a lot of heavy flavors, I wanted something lighter this time. I found this recipe for Poached Salmon with Pesto and Feta, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I love the way the flavors of the basil pesto and feta cheese balance out the delicately cooked fish. This is a recipe I would definitely make again.
