Summertime Summertime Sum Sum Summertime

It seems that Photobucket is still having issues, much to my chagrin. I'm going to give them another day, but after that you might see some changes 'round here. Thanks for your continued awesomeness.

I’m having a hard time believing that we’re almost halfway through the month of April. Pretty soon, it will be the end of May, and school will be out. Which for this gal means I’d better get cracking on finding a summer job. I never would have guessed at the age of 28 I’d still be looking for a summer job. Then again, I probably wouldn’t have guessed a lot of things. I’m not the best guesser, I guess. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.)

Floral ruffle blouse: Liberty of London for Target; white jeans: Gap; pink skinny belt: Target; wood platform sandals (I'll get a better picture of them at some point, I swear!): Mia, 6pm.com

Anyway, since they don’t need substitutes in the summer, and my new job doesn’t start until August, summer job it is. The problem I’m having is finding a job that is temporary, pays decently, and is something I'm qualified to do. Last summer I worked at Ann Taylor Loft; I loved it, but between the minimum wage and the killer discount, I probably spent more than I made. I’m applying at a tutoring agency, but other than similar education-related jobs, I’m drawing a blank.

Why can’t someone just pay me to travel to France for the summer? Or, I can even scale back my dreams a little: can someone pay me to read? I don’t even have to travel for that job. Since those job offers probably aren't going to materialize, I’m looking for some inspiration here. What was your favorite summer job?
