Is it Really Over

Break out the celebratory glass of champagne, because I'm done! I know I got a little whiny there at the end, but I'm really glad that I did participate in the challenge. It really pushed me to be more creative with the things that I own, and not to believe myself when I say "I have nothing to wear!". And now that I have a whole closet full of things to choose from, I really have no reason to say that!

For my final look, I was inspired by Kimberly of Fab Finds Under $50's Outfit Inspiration Calendar. She was sweet enough to put me as yesterday's inspiration (and I did actually wear this yesterday). So I suppose I could say I inspired myself!

Once again, Katy of ModlyChic has some excellent questions, related to finding balance as a blogger, for Fashion and Beauty Friend Friday

1. When it comes to prioritizing your life, in what place does blogging fall?

For me, my faith, my family and my friends come first, no question. After that, my biggest priority is finding a full-time job. But I would say that blogging is next. I try to blog at least five times a week, if not more. Additionally, I make an effort to be an active part of the community; I visit and comment on other blogs almost every day.

2. We all wish we had more free time to dedicate to blogging and all it entails. What are your tricks for taking advantage of the time you do have to be as productive as possible?

I just started scheduling my posts, and that helps a lot! It means I don't post outfits on the same day that I wear them, but really, who cares. And the best part is I'm never in a rush to write up a post--rushed writing never goes well for me!

3. Have you discovered any short-cuts that makes blogging easier or more time efficient?

I love using Google Reader to read blogs (this is old news I know), but it really is an efficient way to read all my favorite blogs. I know lots of you like BlogLovin', which I've tried before, but for me Google Reader works the best. Also, I just started using Disqus for comments, which will allow me to reply directly to comments. I still plan on visiting the blogs of the people who comment, but this way I have the option of responding to comments that need immediate response (like questions, etc.).

4. Do you have an editorial calendar or something similar that helps you plan ahead?

I wish! I've seen some cool ones out there, and I may get one eventually. But right now, I'm pretty much a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants (but with scheduled posting) blogger. But my type A personality is crying out for a blogging planner of sorts, so I may give in to it soon!

5. If time wasn’t an issue what you would be doing on your blog/for your blog that you aren’t doing now?

One thing I would definitely do is go further than my yard to take photos! This would also require more time from my husband, so in this hypothetical situation he has more time as well. I would also learn more about html and formatting so that I could make the changes I want to make to the layout and design of my blog. Basically, what wouldn't I do if I had more time?!

I know today was a longie, so thanks for reading! (And for indulging my tendency to make up words.)
