I'm Just Twenty-Two

Yeah, I'm not really twenty-two. Slim pickins though for songs with "twenty-two" in them. Anyway, does this outfit say "hire me"? I hope so because it's what I wore to my second interview for a (full-time!!) French teaching position yesterday. I won't know for a few weeks, so let the waiting game begin.

I missed last week (I was suffering away in Hawaii) but I'm back on the ball with Modly Chic's Friend Friday questions.

1. What’s your favorite drug store makeup product and your favorite higher-end product?

I buy most of my makeup on the cheap, so it's hard to pick a drugstore favorite. But I really like Target's Sonia Kashuk Ultra Shine Lipglosses. As for higher-end stuff, I really like Arbonne Sheer Finish Tinted Moisturizer.

2. Is there one type of product that is your go-to, can’t live without?

Natural Ice lip balm. I love the minty, tingly feel. I really can't live without this stuff.

3. What’s the best hair product you’ve ever used?

My mom is a retired hairstylist, so I've been lucky to try tons and tons of stuff throughout my life. But honestly, I don't really have a favorite. It totally depends on the length and style of my hair. Right now I really like Pureology Dry Shine Hair Styler for my short 'do.

4. Fess up, what’s the worst beauty look you’ve tried to rock and look back at now with a little shame or apprehension that you actually did that?

Oh, there were quite a few hair experiments I wanted my mom to try on me. For example, I've had more than my fair share of perms. Not cute. Yet I tried and tried, hoping for beautiful ringlets... and ended up looking like a poodle every time.

5. When it comes to beauty products, we all use the same basic products. What do you use that helps show off your personal flare and personality?

I try to keep my makeup pretty natural, and enhance my features. For example, I use colors that play up my fair skin rather than conceal it. Also, in the summer I get freckles, and I don't try to hide them (although I do try to prevent them with SPF!). This may be strategic, or it may just be that I don't like to spend too much time on my makeup. Probably the latter. Sheer laziness.

Thanks Katy for another round of great questions!

Gray Corduroy Blazer: Loft; purple ruffle cardigan: Ann Taylor, thrifted; denim pencil skirt: Converse One Star for Target; purple print scarf: Loft; tan skinny belt: Target; gray slingback pumps: Naturalizer; pasty white bare legs: 60 degree weather in March, woohoo!
